The Coon Rapids Firecracker 5k Run/Walk, 10k Run and Kid’s Sparkler Dash 500 are the kick-off events to this years Coon Rapids Firefighters & Lion’s Carnival. Come for a morning run, stay for a day of fun!

Location: Day-of registration, packet pick-up and start/finish location will be at the Coon Rapids Ice Center. The Coon Rapids Ice Center is located at: 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
Parking: Race parking will be at Anoka Ramsey Community College which is a short walk to the Coon Rapids Ice Center. Anoka Ramsey Community College is located at: 11200 Mississippi Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
Details: The run events, rain or shine, will start and finish at the Coon Rapids Ice Center. The routes are on a combination of residential roads and park paths. See the course maps for the specific 5k and 10k routes. In case of severe weather, the race will be called as early as possible on race day. No refunds will be issued due to cancellation from severe weather.
5k Runners/Walkers will have 1 hour 30 minutes to finish the course. 10k Runners will have 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the course. Anyone exceeding the time cut off is encouraged to finish, however the remainder of their event may be unsupported and they might not receive a finisher’s medal if the finishing line has already cleared.
An after run beverage and snack will be provided at the finish line.
Prizes will be awarded for top male and female 5k, top male and female 10k and Best Patriotic Costume.
The Kid’s Sparkler Dash 500 will immediately follow the awards ceremony. The 500 foot route is in a closed off parking area of the Coon Rapids Ice Center. It will use the same finishing line as the 5k & 10k runs. The Sparkler Dash is open to kids ages 3-8. For the purpose of the waiver, all participants of the Sparkler Dash must be registered.
All proceeds from Coon Rapids Firecracker 5k & 10k will be donated to various organizations in the community that help make our community a happier, healthier and more enjoyable place to live.
After your run, please stay for other Coon Rapids Firefighters & Lions Carnival events and attractions. Lion’s breakfast. Firefighter Bingo & Pull Tabs. Rides and amusements by Gopher State Expositions.
